Location
Bwindi lies in southwestern Uganda, on the edge of the Rift Valley. It borders the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and is close to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Coordinates: 1.044° S, 29.719° E.

Rainy Seasons (March–May & October–November): The forest is lush and beautiful but trails are slippery, making trekking more challenging. Birdwatching, however, is at its best.
How to Get There

By Road: 8–10 hours from Kampala/Entebbe. Many travelers stop at Lake Mburo or Queen Elizabeth National Park en route.

By Air: Domestic flights from Entebbe or Kampala’s Kajjansi Airstrip to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrips, followed by a 1–2 hour drive to park entry points.

Clothing: Wear sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, a rain jacket, and gloves for grabbing vegetation.
